5 Things to do Now to Prepare your Home for Fall

With summer winding down, now is the ideal time to complete the following tasks to make sure your home is ready for the upcoming season.

Check and Clean Windows

Is there anything worse than a leaky window when it's 40 below? Now is the perfect time to check for leaks and caulk. It's also the perfect time to clean your windows.

Check the HVAC or Boiler

You can do this yourself but I highly recommend having someone out to check and tune up your unit. While you're at it, if you have a furnace, replace the filter. Replacing the filter can help you avoid damage and reduce your bills since it won't be overworking.

Check the Gutters

You want to make sure they aren't clogged or blocked before the rain sets in. Fingers crossed the rain actually comes.

Overseed the Lawn

If you want a nice lawn, regular maintenance is key. I recently learned that the key to less water in the summer is thick full grass.

Test Winter Equipment

It's so much easier to do these tasks when you can actually feel your fingers. Start the snowblower now and make your life easier.
