Get to Know
East Harriet offers a thoughtful balance of green space, historic homes, and city accessibility. Tucked just outside of Uptown and close to downtown Minneapolis, the neighborhood feels residential and peaceful while still keeping everyday activity within easy reach. The area is especially known for its parkland and natural beauty, including the Rose Garden, Peace Garden, Roberts Bird Sanctuary, and Lake Harriet. East Harriet is also home to the historic residence of Theodore Wirth, whose influence on Minneapolis parks is still felt today. His former home sits on a hill within Lyndale Farmstead Park, which offers athletic fields, a winter ice rink, pickleball courts, and a playground. East Harriet is bordered by 36th Street to the north, Lyndale Avenue South to the east, West 46th Street to the south, and William Berry Parkway, Lakewood Cemetery, and Lake Harriet to the west.
