Falling for Minneapolis: My Must-Visit Spots This Season

Whether you’re visiting from out of town, new to Minneapolis, or have lived here for years, this city has a way of feeling both familiar and fresh. Minneapolis is a city I adore, for me, it’s home. It isn’t perfect, but it does so many things really well. From our tree-lined streets and beautiful old homes to the lakes and trails, local shops, and restaurants, there’s a balance here that feels just right: big city energy wrapped up in a small-town vibe.

In our work as Realtors, we find ourselves all over our beautiful city, and it never bores us, we’re always discovering something new. This isn’t a comprehensive list by any means, but these are my go-to recommendations for cozy places I think everyone should experience in Minneapolis this fall.

Breakfast/Coffee Spots:

Five Watt – Strong coffee in a spot that feels hip without being pretentious.

Isles Bun and Coffee – Because the cinnamon roll almost broke the internet.

Rustica Bakery and Cafe – Warm and cozy vibe, good coffee, and even better bread.

Lunch/Dinner Spots:

Diane’s Place – This place feels like neighborhood staple. Warm, welcoming, and delicious.

The Bungalow Club – Cozy, stylish, and perfect for date night. The menu changes with the season's and they always seem to nail it.

Petite León – Small plates, big flavor. I love the vibe here, it's somehow both laid back and intimate.

Copper Hen – Rustic, charming, great for brunch or dinner.

Bull’s Horn – A neighborhood dive with seriously good food. The vibe is pure South Minneapolis, wear your flannel and pull some tabs.

Pizzeria Lola – We like to grab a cozy spot at the bar, right next to the the wood fired oven.

Where to Shop:

Carousel + Folk – A beautifully curated shop full of home goods, gifts, and local finds - they sell the best candles.

Combine – My favorite place to shop lately and get inspired. Think cozy sweaters and a great pair of jeans.

Love Your Melon – Our favorite shop for beanies is back and just in time for cooler temps.

What to Do:

Walk Around Lake of the Isles – The combination of beautiful old homes, tree-lined streets, and fall colors makes this one of the best autumn walks in the city.

Visit Minnehaha Falls – A classic Minneapolis spot, and even more magical when the leaves start to turn.

Catch a Game – Whether it’s a Gophers football game or cheering on the Vikings, fall sports bring a special kind of energy to the city.

Minneapolis always has something special to offer each season, from cozy coffee spots to hidden gems around the city. I hope this list gives you a few new places to explore and enjoy the season to the fullest!

As always, from all of us here at Matt Engen Group, thanks for reading!
