How to Stage your Bathroom to Sell

It's no secret buyers want a turnkey home. One where they can move right in, bonus points if it looks just like the homes they see on Instagram or HGTV. Which is why staging your home is a critical piece to successfully selling your home. While staging other larger rooms may be more important staging your bathroom well should not be underestimated. Here are our top tips to stage your bathroom to sell.

  • Clean and then clean again. Repeat after me, a dirty bathroom will not sell. The toilet seat should be down. Cleaning supplies and garbage cans hidden away. Personal products removed and the towels should be freshly washed, preferably brand new and lovely.
  • Declutter and put way personal items. Counters and the back of the toilet should be free of personal items. If you have extra storage bins or shelves remove them. It's important that this small space does not feel cluttered.
  • Freshen Up the Cabinets. If you're cabinets have seen better days now would be a great time to paint them and install new hardware. Use contact paper or wallpaper in a fresh fun pattern to clean up the inside.
  • Check the lights. Good lighting in the bathroom can make all the difference. Make sure your light fixtures are on trend and the bulbs provide the right light. You want a bright yet soft and natural light for the bathroom. We recommend looking for lights that advertise warm white like Energetic's bulb which can be found on Amazon.
  • Freshen up Caulk. You can clean and clean and clean but if you don't freshen up the caulk your bathroom will still appear dirty.
  • Appeal to all the senses. Now is the time to add back in some luxurious and final touches. Place a candle or a diffuser on the counter. Add in some fresh flowers or a houseplant and hang brand new towels and shower curtains if necessary. Keep in mind that buyers want a relaxing and spa like feel in a bathroom and make all your decisions based on that.

A little bit of effort and a lot of cleaning is all it takes to create a bathroom buyers will appreciate.
